LOGAN, Utah (AP) - Cache County law enforcement agencies have joined forces in an effort to create a streamlined, efficient system for responding in child abduction cases.
The Cache County CART - Child Abduction Response Team - is Utah's third. Utah Attorney General Mark Shurtleff created a statewide team and Salt Lake County also has a team.
CART's are designed to cut confusion and increase coordination so that investigations get under way quickly.
Cache County attorney's office victim's advocate Terryl Warner says there hasn't been a non-family abduction in the county since 1999.
South Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Snyder talked with local agencies about the difficulties of abductions cases last week. He says the immediate mobilization of resources are crucial in an investigation.
